The MP 2014ADN are entry level, black and white MFPs that are designed specifically for emerging markets. They are affordable and user-friendly devices, providing A3 capability and low total cost of ownership (TCO).
These MFPs print at 20 copies per minute (cpm) and come with a Dynamic Data Stream Technology (DDST) controller, which is Ricoh’s name for the technology used in its GDI controller for laser printers and MFPs.
The devices also come with a host of features such as easy jam removal, Folder Print, customisable shortcut keys, and optional bypass tray cover to make them attractive to customers in emerging markets. Their compact size makes them ideal for customers in small offices and small to medium workgroups. The basic capabilities of these MFPs can be expanded by adding optional network connectivity and additional paper banks.
BENEFITS:
Excellent productivity
The MP 2014 series feature a fast copy speed of 20 cpm as well as a host of features that provide high productivity to meet the requirements of our customers. These include support for up to A3 paper size which makes them ideal for customers who need to print larger size documents such as spreadsheets and plans without any image clipping.
Customers can also
print on a variety of paper types via the standard bypass tray, which supports
special media such as overhead transparencies and envelopes within a 52–216
g/m2 weight range.
The MP 2014D and MP 2014AD come with a duplex unit as standard, while the MP 2014AD also has an ARDF that provides automatic duplex document feeding. No manual intervention is required with the ARDF, which reduces errors and improves productivity.
Innovative features
These devices have a number of innovative features that have been specially designed to make them easy to use and attractive to customers in emerging markets.
Easy jam removal
Based on Ricoh experience, many users in emerging markets require easy paper jam removal. Among the features implemented to provide this include a mainframe door that opens sideways for better access. Handles have also been placed on the fusing unit to facilitate easier removal of jammed paper.
The optional paper bank PB2020 has also been fitted with a mechanism that automatically ejects jammed paper when the side door is opened.
Folder Print
Customers in emerging
markets frequently need to store and print standardised forms or special documents
when required. The Folder Print feature allows customers to do this without a
HDD.
It allows scanned data to be saved in three available folders, with each folder capable of storing up to two A4 size pages or one A3 size page. Users are able to operate this feature using a direct hard key as well as set a four-digit password for security.
ID card scan
An ID card scan
function has been added to simplify the digitisation of important documents and
improve efficiency. This function streamlines the process by enabling users to
set the front and back side of an ID card and scan them twice into a single
output.
This eliminates the
time-consuming steps of either having two sets of data (front and back) or aking
an ID card copy first and then scanning the output.
Customisable
shortcut keys
There are two hard keys
on the left side of the operation panel that can be customised to act as
shortcut keys to these
specific functions:
- Folder Print
- 71% copy
- 141% copy
- Diazo Copy Mode
- Voucher Copy Mode
- ID card scan—requires optional DDST unit Type M16
- Scan to email and Scan to folders—requires optional DDST unit Type M16
This feature allows customers to save time when carrying out frequently-used operations, improving efficiency and productivity.
Low TCO
The devices have a number of power saving features that reduce energy consumption and lower the total cost of ownership (TCO). For example, the MP 2014 series are compliant with the Energy Star v2.0 energy saving standard, making them ideal for customers who want to lower their energy costs and be environmentally responsible.
The MFPs also have a
low Typical Electricity Consumption (TEC) value of 1.75 kWh and power use
during Energy Saver Mode (Sleep Mode) is less than 4 W—attractive key selling
points for customers who want to lower their energy usage. Customers are also
able to save on maintenance costs with the device’s robust reliability targets.
These include a maximum volume of 5,000 prints per month, duty cycle of 30,000
prints, and a long unit life of 300,000 prints.
In addition, these
devices support a high yield toner that provides an impressive yield of 12,000
prints, enabling customers to lower the cost per page (CPP).
Useful options
The MP 2014 series come with several useful options for customers who want to extend the basic capabilities of the devices.
In terms of paper
handling, customers can choose up to two optional 500-sheet paper banks, which
increase the paper input capacity from the standard 350 sheets to up to 1,350
sheets—ideal for customers who want the flexibility to expand paper capacity
according to their business needs.
Other options include a
DDST unit which allows customers to share the device on a network to save cost.
It also enables advanced features such as Scan to email and Scan to folders.
There is also a convenient tray cover option that prevents dust from settling on the paper in the bypass tray. The bypass tray cover is especially useful for customers that operate in dusty environments such as a warehouse or construction site office.
